Nagano Station – The Hub

Nagano Station is the main transport hub of Nagano City and a popular gateway to the region’s ski resorts. Served by the Hokuriku Shinkansen and multiple local lines, it offers fast and easy access from Tokyo, as well as excellent onward connections to resorts such as Hakuba, Nozawa Onsen, Madarao, and Myoko.

Just a short walk or bus ride from the station is Zenko-ji Temple, one of Japan’s most important and historic Buddhist temples, dating back over 1,400 years. The approach street leading to Zenko-ji is lined with traditional shops, cafes, and souvenir stores—perfect for a short stroll before or after your journey.

Around Nagano Station itself, you’ll find a wide range of hotels, restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping complexes, making it an ideal place to stay for a night before heading into the mountains. From casual ramen shops to modern izakaya and international dining options, there’s no shortage of places to refuel.

For guests using Nagano Snow Shuttle, Nagano Station provides a convenient and central meeting point—easy to reach, well signposted, and surrounded by amenities. In short: excellent transport links, plenty to see and eat, and a smooth starting point for your trip to the snow.

Nagano Station – East Exit (Nagano Snow Shuttle)

Nagano Snow Shuttle services arrive and depart from the East Exit of Nagano Station, the side of the station most commonly used for bus services and group transfers.

Departures operate from Bus Stop 25, a clearly marked bus bay located just outside the East Exit. Our staff will be on hand prior to departure to assist with check-in and luggage, ensuring a smooth and organized boarding process.

Arrivals are handled at the nearby Yumeria Parking Lot, also on the East Exit side of the station. This designated drop-off area allows for safe and efficient unloading, particularly during busy winter periods. From there, it’s just a short walk back to the station entrance, taxi ranks, and surrounding hotels.

Clear meeting points, simple directions, and central access—so your transfer to or from the mountains is straightforward from start to finish.
